Author's Note: If you haven't guessed, there's going to be all kinds of nastiness in this story. Violence, language, racism, sexism, sex, gore, vore, and more! If you have triggers of any kind, this is your warning. If you're looking for a nice, heartwarming tale like Sword Art Online, keep looking. There will be 'good guys' as well, but this is a story where Might IS Right. However, if you've read Watchmen and Wanted, and like what you read (READ, not the movies!), then you just may find this story in your strike zone. And for f*ck's sake, this is just a story! Don't take this as an endorsement of any of the actions in this story.
So, walking into an Imperial Navy base didn't work out so well for Mirikon Mollen and the Princess he rescued. And yeah, they may have done a few things that drew a lot of unwanted attention to themselves. Sure, they might have kick-started a war between two stellar empires. But really, who hasn't done that at least once or twice?
Maybe he should try and work on that whole 'laying low and not making waves' thing. But really, what fun would that be?
Now, in Confederation space, he's faced with new challenges, both from a hostile world, and from newfound power, and all the temptations that offers him. They say power corrupts, but Mirikon needs power to protect what is his.

A Nomad decided to go all Agent Smith on the planet Jagloth, and make the whole planet copies of himself, turning the entire planet into a huge hive-mind with him as the head of the 'legion'. Naturally, the Confederation Navy purged that planet with extreme prejudice, to keep any trace of the Legion Virus from escaping Jagloth.
Fortunately for Mirikon and his growing crew, they couldn't stop him from escaping the system with valuable cargo he otherwise would have had to ditch to help with evacuation efforts. With a second ship and a group of raiders ready and eager to work for him (as eager as slaves get, anyways), Mirikon has his sights set on Dimiya, the knelfi homeworld and capitol of the Confederacy. What could possibly go wrong?

He's escaped a top secret Imperial research lab. He's rescued a Princess from certain death. He's got a crew. He's banged a hot knelfi chick. Things are looking up for Mirikon Mollen, Captain of the Starlight Raven.
Of course, there's the little fact that he's now got several bounties on his head, including one from the Prince who killed the Emperor in an attempt to start a coup and seize power. If he, and his crew, are going to fly clear of this mess, they're either going to have to get out of the Empire, or find some help to take down Prince Travis. The closest help is in Alpha Centauri, but will walking into a base controlled by the very fleet that is hunting him prove to be his undoing?
Follow Mirikon's continuing adventures, as he strives to make his own path in this new game universe.

In 2016, Earth was invaded by the Rithenal Empire, a multispecies empire encompassing over a dozen star systems. Because of Sol System being at a strategic juncture of warp gates, if one could conquer the system, they would gain a great advantage over the other powers in this arm of the galaxy.
Unfortunately for the Rithenalese, humankind was not so powerless as one might expect. Previous invasions had left their mark, even if the general public didn't know about them. The explosion of a Krax Imperial warship over Siberia in 1908 gave humankind mutant abilities, while the capture of a Ross'Ell science vessel in 1947 greatly advanced our technology. While governments fell to the surprise attack, a resistance was formed.
One member of the Resistance was feared above all others by the Rithenalese. An assassin who conjured mists that no living thing emerged from, they began calling him the Mistwalker. To the humans, they knew him as a thief and assassin called Iceblade.
This is his story.

The setting is a world of superheroes and sci-fi, and our main character who may not be the most powerful out there, but is willing to do whatever it takes to win. No matter the cost. He is not a hero. He is not an anti-hero. He is not a vigilante. He is a villain, and knows what he is. He is amoral but ethical.
Rated R: Definite language, violence, gore, sex, and all the horrible things that can happen in the world. If you have triggers, consider this your warning.
Earth is no longer alone in the universe. Twenty years ago, aliens invaded, thinking that Earth would be an easy conquest. They were wrong. Humanity fought back, and won their freedom in a war that scarred the heavens and left trillions dead in its wake. But after the war was done, and peace declared, there were plenty of places needing rebuilding. And humans also began branching out into the stars themselves. The first human colony outside the solar system was founded by a 'former' supervillain named Iceblade. He called that colony Sanctuary. Others might call it a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Some may call it a land of unbridled opportunity. Some just call it home. Being known as a place where anyone can find anything if they're willing to pay the price, Sanctuary developed a bustling shipping (or maybe smuggling) industry, using mostly 'independent contractors' on small freighters notable more for their speed than the size of their hold. One of these freighters is the Vigilance-class corvette named the Void Traveler. This is the story of Void Traveler and her crew.
There are many worlds in the cosmos. Many of them have rules and laws that are utterly alien to the world that we know. Most never leave the world they were born into, never even know or suspect that other worlds even exist. Their souls simply go through the cycle of reincarnation again and again, always forgetting their past lives, and living as they please. But some few are given the gift of Transfering after death, to live their next life in a different world, with memories of their past lives to enrich the world they go to with new concepts and new ideas, and bringing back those same from the world they visited when it is time for their next cycle in their old world. A young woman suffers a tragic fate, and is granted the ability to Transfer. She is reincarnated into a new world, full of monsters and magic, things that would be mere myths and legends to her in her old life. This time, she promises, will be different. She doesn't have to be weak here. She doesn't have to be a victim. She can be strong, and no one will ever control her again!
The world ended.
Well, the world as we knew it ended, replaced by one with a System, with levels and hit points and stats. A world where monsters spawned and preyed on the weak. A world where men became monsters to stand against them.
The Black Knight was one such monster of a man, facing down the hordes with his loved ones and allies. Together, they struck down many powerful warlords and monsters, to protect the people. But, at the moment of his greatest triumph, he was betrayed by his lover and his closest friend, struck with a cursed blade that would end him once and for all. But he refused to go quietly.
The explosion cast him back in time, in the body of his former self, before the System Apocalypse began. And, in that moment, he thought about the life he had led. He had been a hero, a Black Knight to stand against the darkness. All that had earned him was betrayal and death. If that was the case, then he would become the darkness, itself, and bend it to his will.
His new fate may be a dark one, but he will never be betrayed like that again!

Author's Note: This is a story set in a world where everything we knew suddenly got turned upside down by a System coming online. This is not a tale of heroics. This is the tale of a man who has chosen to throw away his humanity and embrace his inner demon, to put himself beyond betrayal. This story features cursing, gore, enslavement, mind control, non-consensual acts, and more. If you were hoping for a tale of a white knight in the midst of the apocalypse, you're going to be disappointed. If you have triggers, consider this your warning.
The year is 2076, and mankind has perfected VR technology, using the Chip, an implant that interfaces directly with the human brain, using it like an organic computer. Age of Anarchy Online (AAO) is the newest game released by Icestorm, makers of the legendary World of Destiny (WoD). Unlike VR games before it, AAO promises a 110% 'Better Than Life' realism experience, and to showcase this, Icestorm announces that AAO will have no 'Out of Character' rules, save for actions like hacking or exploiting system errors. Players can do anything to NPCs and even other players, and there will be no consequences save what one may suffer in game. "Do what thou wilt, but it may be done to you in turn." Mike Greene, better known in WoD as Torgan, a max level Paladin and leader of the Lords of Light, one of the top 'light side' guilds in WoD, now sets off on a new adventure in AAO. -------------------- Author's If you haven't guessed, there's going to be all kinds of nastiness in this story. With his 'troubles' in the Confederate Senate behind him, Captain Mollen, owner of the Black Star Company, and perhaps the most infamous individual in the game, now finds himself at loose ends as the rebuilding efforts after the X'thari attack on Nuevo Edo continue. Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be. ------------------------------------ The world of CoC is not a happy one, but it is not grimdark, either. It is like the world we live in, but with superheroes and game-like elements, where the ones regarded as heroes aren't always the most heroic amongst us. While the main characters in CoC are not as... extreme as those in my other stories, and at least try to be heroes, there is material some will find disturbing. **This is a compilation of Issues 1-5 of City of Champions Online.**
Fresh from a successful 'negotiation' with the Terran Empress to help her with the matter of an heir to the throne, as well as dealing with the first Nomad companies trying to make a name for themselves in the Black Star territory of Star's Reach, Mirikon Mollen and his Black Star Company are ready for the next challenge that comes their way. The Consortium has come, seeking to hire the Black Star Navy to run anti-piracy patrols in the far-off Grathdan Sector, while the sector forces rush to confront a mysterious threat that has caused an entire star system to go silent.
What is happening in the Grathdan Sector, and what will it mean for Mollen and the Black Stars?
